Kurzweil #1-Introduction to Kurzweil.
Recommended for students who are new to Kurzweil 3000 or require a refresher. This workshop will provide an introductory overview Kurzweil 3000 including basic functions, toolbars and reading options. Opportunity to practice with the program will be included during the workshop. Students who have books in Kurzweil format are encouraged to bring their electronic copies, demonstration textbooks will be available for students who do not.
Students are welcome to repeat a particular workshop as many times as they feel are warranted.
Kurzweil #2-Intermediate Kurzweil.
Recommended for students who have used Kurzweil 3000, been given an introductory training or taken the Kurzweil #1 workshop and wish to explore more possibilities related to the program. This workshop will provide instruction on more advanced features of Kurzweil 3000 including highlighting, note-taking and vocabulary development. Students who have books in Kurzweil format are encouraged to bring their electronic copies, demonstration textbooks will be available for students who do not.
Kurzweil #3-Advanced Kurzweil
Recommended for students and instructors who have used Kurzweil 3000 and are familiar with the basic components of the program. This workshop will focus on use of Kurzweil for test-taking, embedded instruction, ESL instruction and other advanced features of the program.
Smart Tech Workshop
Recommended for students interested in exploring some of the newer technology available for students. This workshop will explore uses and applications for Smart Pens and iPads for classroom use. Students are encouraged to bring Smart Pens, iPhones and/or iPads to the workshops.
